文同(1018~1079年)，字与可，号笑笑居士、笑笑先生，人称石室先生。北宋梓州梓潼郡永泰县(今属四川绵阳市盐亭县)人。画家、诗人。宋仁宗皇有佑元年(1049年)进士，迁太常博士、集贤校理，历官邛州、大邑、陵州、洋州(今陕西洋县)等知州或知县。元丰初年，文同赴湖州(今浙江吴兴)就任，世人称文湖州。元丰二年(1079)正月二十日，文同在陈州(今河南省淮阳县)病逝，未到任而卒，享年61岁。他与苏轼是表兄弟，以学名世，擅诗文书画，深为文彦博、司马光等人赞许，尤受其从表弟苏轼敬重。《芦雁图》绢本，在芦雁画中极少见。画法上，作者以娴熟泼墨法挥写鸿雁，仅在喙间及足部略施赭黄，但工写结合，描写细腻，与鸿雁所用浓淡有致，墨彩达到和谐统一。在用墨上，雁首、雁翅用浓墨，雁背用淡墨，淡墨处再以浓墨点染，来表现雁翎的斑斓。雁羽，以用墨留白来处理，再以赭色疏染。芦苇用大笔挥写，笔墨老辣苍劲，平淡中蕴藏非凡气势。苇间沙洲则用干笔淡墨横拖表现，顿显平阔之空间感，深得"遗貌取神"之妙趣。鸿雁的动势靠头颈部转动的角度变化来体现。一笔成头颈、胸腹，由浓渐淡;三五笔成羽翼、尾巴，由淡而浓。如此，所绘鸿雁就充满润泽柔软的质感和立体感。令人体味到画家融入了自身的人格、修养和情操。Wentong(1018-1079),withtheword"Keke",isknownasMr.Shishi.YongtaiCounty,ZitongCounty,ZizhouCity,NorthernSongDynasty(nowYantingCounty,MianyangCity,SichuanProvince)isanative.Famouspainterandpoet.EmperorRenzongoftheSongDynastywasascholarinthefirstyearofYouyou(1049).HemovedtoChixianUniversity,Dr.Taichang,andotherZhizhouorZhixiancounties,suchasQiongzhou,Dayi,LingzhouandYangzhou(nowYangxianCounty,ShaanxiProvince).IntheearlyyearsofYuanfeng,WentongwenttoHuzhou(nowWuxing,ZhejiangProvince)totakeoffice,whichisknownasWenhuzhou.WenTongdiedofillnessinChenzhou(nowHuaiyangCounty,HenanProvince)onJanuary20,thesecondyearofYuanfeng,attheageof61.HeandSuShiarecousins.Theyarewell-knownscholarsandgoodatpoetry,writingandpainting.TheyarehighlypraisedbyWenYanboandSimaGuang,especiallybytheircousinsSuShi.ThesilkeditionofLuyanTuisveryrareinLuyanpain***painting,theauthorusesskillfulink-splashingmethodtowritethegoose,onlyslightlyocherbetweenbeaksandfeet,butthecombinationofworkandwriting,delicatedescription,andtheuseofthegoose,inkcolortoachieveharmonyandunity.Ontheuseofink,YanTouandYanWingusethickink,YanBeiuselightink,andthenlightinkspotdyedwiththickink,toshowYanLing'sgorgeous.Wildgoosefeathersaretreatedwithinkleavingwhite,andthenwithochresparsedyeing.Reedwriteswithalargebrush,thebrushandinkareold,hotandvigorous,plainandcontainextraordinarymomentum.Thesandbarbetweenthereedsisrepresentedbydrybrushandlightink,showingasenseofbroadspace,andgettingadeepsenseof"relicsforgod"interesting.Themovementofthegooseisreflectedbythechangeoftherotationangleoftheheadan***strokebecomesheadandneck,chestandabdomen,fromthicktolight;threeorfivestrokesbecomefeathersandtails,fromlightto***thisway,thepaintedgooseisfullofsofttextureandthree-dimensionalfeeling.Itmakesonefeelthatthepainterhasintegratedhispersonality,cultivationandsentiment.
